I was lucky enough to be a part of a friend’s engagement this past weekend. Her boyfriend, now fiance, was kind enough to let us ladies participate and take photos for her. We went out to the track, where he originally asked her out two years ago, and set up a clear tarp on the grass. Full story

Golf team rewarded

This year, the University of West Florida men’s golf team earned the Golf Coaches Association of America All-Academic Team Honors. “Fortunately, I have never had too much trouble with my players academically, because I work hard to recruit good student-athletes that can perform both on the course and in the classroom,” Head Coach Steve Fell said. Seth Rosonina is the top freshman prospect for the University of West Florida men’s cross-country team. He brings one of the fastest high school cross-country 5K performances of anyone currently on the team. Rosonina may be just a freshman, but Head Coach John Bergen expects a great season from him.

Indie rock band beats hard times

Colour Revolt, an alternative rock band from Oxford, Miss., has returned two years after its debut album with new band members and a new record label on their sophomore album, “The Cradle.” In 2008, Colour Revolt was signed with the local Oxford indie label Fat Possum Records.

ISOC strives to unite UWF clubs

The Internal Student Organization Council at the University of West Florida has been working diligently since the summer to assist all clubs and student organizations in developing and collaborating with other groups. “The purpose of ISOC is to help promote healthy communication among all the organizations,” said Colby Kinder, graduate assistant for Student Activities and Organizations.
