If you are going to be in Pensacola for the Winter break, the city is offering a wide variety of events to help you enjoy yourself.

On Dec. 12, starting at 5:15 p.m., the 2009 COX Christmas Parade will kick off. Organizers are estimating 50,000 people will attend the event to view the parade, floats and the debut of the Wind Creek Blimp, a three-person blimp that will follow the parade through downtown. Before the parade begins, the 1.2 mile Christmas Parade-Dash will begin.

The Dash has close to 400 participants annually and is sponsored by the Pensacola Runners Association.

The race begins at 5 p.m., and the track zigzags through downtown and is lined with thousands of screaming people. The race ends at Plaza Ferdinand, and if you can make the Dash, you will be given a large candy cane to celebrate.

For more information visit www.pensacolarunners.com On Dec. 18, 19 and 20, Rudolph’s Holiday Stroll, a one-hour tour through Seville, will take place and will offer tour stops, songs and stories throughout.

The stroll costs $9. Dec. 5, 11, 18, 19 and 20, you have a chance to enjoy the Winterfest Performance Tours, with 16 performers stretched out along a 60-minute trip through downtown Pensacola.

The price for the tour is $18. On December 21–24, Santa’s Holiday Express can take you on a fun-filled 30-minute ride with Santa that includes songs and lights. The Holiday Express is free.

The Pensacola Ice Flyers, Pensacola’s new hockey team, will host games on Dec. 18, 19, 26 and 27, as well as on Jan. 2. All of these games start at 7:05 p.m., except the game on Dec. 27, which starts at 5:05 p.m. Single-game tickets range from $10 to $19.
