If you're interested in showing off your talents or you like supporting your friends as they share theirs, you should attend the University of West Florida's Open Mike Night events.
The UWF Campus Activities Board's Center Stage Committee conducted their first Open Mike Night on Sept. 14, with 10 entrants showing off a variety of talents, including singing, playing musical instruments, reciting poetry and more.
The entrants included Danny Borges, Bandon Meyor, Shane Cooney, Derek Hubble with Ashley Duff, Jason Wells, Kathy Mohomond, Natalia Padro, Meeshack Lee, Renee Aroequete and Keli Woods.
All performed their best with their unique talents, but only three winners were selected. Hubble, Padro and Lee were chosen by the Community Activities Board's Center Stage Committee to compete in the semester's final Open Mike Night on Nov. 30.
If you're interested in joining in the fun, it's not too late. Two Open Mike Night events remain before the final contest. The next event is Oct. 5. Signups begin at 8 p.m., followed by the event at 8:30 p.m.
