Following a recent heart attack, University of West Florida psychology professor and author William Mikulas is back at home recovering and expects to be "back in the game" and on campus next week.He was treated and released from Sacred Heart Hospital after being stricken the last week of January."He's out and he's doing just fine," said Michael DeMaria, who has been friends with Mikulas for over 25 years. "He has been in high spirits and has stayed positive throughout as he recuperates." DeMaria, an independent teacher of mediation, told the Meditation Club Monday night that doctors say Mikulas will make a full recovery after having minor surgery.Mikulas was interviewed by The Voyager last month and discussed his 37-year teaching career at UWF, as well as his beliefs in Eastern philosophy and Buddhist meditation. Ronald W. Belter, psychology associate professor, said in an e-mail message to The Voyager that Mikulas is on the mend and will be back on campus next week."He would like people to know that his recent medical adventure was a noteworthy medical matter but that he is back in the game," Belter wrote. "He plans to be back on campus next week and will be available then to field additional questions that anyone might have."
