Tennis Triumph

The West Florida Women's tennis team has now won eight matches in a row, with their impressive 9-0 win over 30th ranked Cameron University on Tuesday at the Skeeter Carson Tennis complex. The 18th ranked Argos swept the Aggies in straight sets in all six singles wins, and improved to 9-6 on the year.

Argonaut earns Pitcher of the Week

West Florida Starting Pitcher Kyle Ramsey was named the Gulf South Conference Pitcher of the Week for this past week, on the strength of his complete game win over North Alabama last Friday. The Junior from Kissimmee, Florida earned his second career award, as he won the award the first week of the 2006 season as a Freshman.

Argos lose 12-2; Saints call game in 8th

The University of West Florida baseball team ran head first into what looked like a better baseball team on Tuesday. The North Georgia College & State University Saints beat UWF 12-2 in eight innings. The early action of the game produced a scary moment when Matt Collins beaned Craig Brisson in the helmet with a fast ball that got away.
