Most college students have heard of RateMyProfessors.com, but now there is a new Web site where, instead of only the professors being rated, the actual university is also being rated.

This new Web site is CampusBuddy.com, and it boasts the largest grade database for universities and professors. Students can connect to CampusBuddy, which is now a verified Facebook application, from their Facebook page.

After adding it as an application the student then adds in current and past courses taken at the school and rates how the class and professor were on a 5-star scale.

Compared to RateMyProfessors.com, which only has professor ratings and not class grades or university ratings, CampusBuddy.com also has access to over 100 million official grading records from the universities.

RateMyProfessors.com has on file 695 professors from the University of West Florida with ratings, and students tend to find the Web site helpful.

“I think it’s sometimes helpful but sometimes not for example when you can’t find the professors you’re looking for,” sophomore studio art major Danette Albino said. “But at times I wonder if the comments about the professors are true or not because sometimes they seem a little far-fetched.”

To make CampusBuddy.com as useful as it should be, students need to sign up either on the facebook application or on the CampusBuddy Web site.

The more student ratings, the more of an impact it would have on perspective students coming to UWF. Currently there are 968 UWF students using CampusBuddy but only 11 have rated the university. The university has a rating of four stars.
