The Distinguished Teaching Award is an award given to four professors at UWF: one to a professor in the College of Arts & Sciences, one to a professor in the College of Business, and one to a professor in the College of Professional Studies, and the fourth is a toss-up given to a professor from any of the colleges.
This award carries prestige because it is the only award that is nominated by the UWF student body. Any and all professors are eligible for this nomination, and that includes online professors.
The Academic Committee of SGA deliberates over the nominations and goes through a three-month period of classroom observations, phone interviews and sit down interviews with the nominees.
The award will be presented to the four professors at the spring Honors Convocation on March 26. So if you’ve got something to say, fill out your D.T.A. Look for an easy-to-file ballot in The Voyager next week.
