Global warming merely a political hoax

In just a few weeks, President Obama will travel to Copenhagen to attend a summit on climate change.

Climate change is better known as global warming, but when the data could no longer support warming, the term was changed to climate change so the pundits are covered either way the temperature goes.

In the early 1970s, the rage of the day was global cooling. Experts espoused that ice would cover the U.S. somewhere between Kentucky to Florida by the year 2000.

So, despite all of the doom and gloom depicted on the Weather Channel, I can’t take global warming seriously.

Before the U.S. enters into any national treaties on the subject, there needs to be something to hang our hat on.

But what we have is more conjecture than fact. There are frequent reports of measurement errors taking place with regard to temperatures around the world.

According to economics professor and syndicated columnist Walter Williams, in March of this year “more than 700 international scientists went on record dissenting over man-made global warming claims.”

He goes on to state that 31,500 American scientists, including 9,029 with Ph.D.s, have signed a petition that states that there is no convincing evidences that human caused global warming is a major issue in the foreseeable future.

In fact, according to an email an internal report by Alan Carlin, an EPA analyst who criticized the EPA’s position on global warming, was squelched for political reasons.

The fact is that temperatures over the past ten years indicate that the earth has been cooling and not warming.

Unfortunately the present cooling was not predicted by global warming computer models. Modeling is a popular research methodology, but it is only reliable if the measurements used in building the model are reliable.

As such, models are usually built from known data and then the reliability of the model is tested on a sample of past data before it is used to predict the future.

Neal Boortz reported that none of the global warming computer models test reliably on a sample of past data.

Again, the motive behind global warming “cap and trade,” which is a tax, is redistributing wealth within the U.S. (and killing the economy in the process).

According to some, if Obama signs the Copenhagen treaty, the U.S. will be required to send 2% of its annual GDP to a world government for the purpose of redistribution to lesser well off countries (again killing our economy).

Like so-called “health care reform,” the real issue is tax increases and the redistribution of wealth.

Private sector economic growth via the invisible hand of capitalism is the best solution to the economic ills of the U.S. and the world — not the visible hand of government intervention.

Much of your information is incorrect.

In the 1970s scientists were NOT predicting an ice age:

The 31,500 scientists refers to the Petition Project/Oregon Petition which is a well-documented fraud:

Carlin's EPA report is also well-oiled misinformation:

There is no golbal cooling in the 2000s:

Obviously plagarized from questionable sources. Just a regurgitation of ideological pap. No original thought or research. Worthless.

Stan is drinking so much kool aid it isn't even funny.

The only "deniers" are the ones who perpetuate this bogus idea of global warming and have to carefully cherry-pick data that "proves" their theories and sh-tcan data that doesn't so their detractors can't get it.

Wake up, Stan. You've been had and you're only making yourself look like a fool to continue rambling on with stuff you know little about. If you don't know the difference between poll and pole, you need a better education.

Warmest Regards

Remember when the earth was covered in Ice? It's gone now, and there were no humans or flatulant cows to contribute to it's elimination. I guess (and reason) that there was a natural warming that occurred, devoid of an artificial contribution. In that case, we're probably being rediculous to think we can start it, and rediculous to think we can stop it. It is fun to argue about it, and really fun to watch a supposedly scientific argument immedialy digress to politics. Don't be fooled, folks. If they get us talking about politics and agendas, the science becomes irrelevant.

Stan, my Mom is 65 and my Dad is 67 and when they were in school they were being told that there was going to be an "ice age" that would freeze several of the southern states. That NEVER happened and that was suppposidly "scientifically based" information. I would venture to guess that you believe in Evolution, right, if you do, or even if you don't, how could you, or anyone, possibly know what the weather and climate cycle is for our planet when the records for such things have only been kept for the last 100 or so years?

@Stan

At least oil is a useable commodity. Can you say the same for that absurd carbon credit scam?
Didn't the Catholic Church do something similar at one point, selling indulgences for sins?

Well at least Walter Williams and Neil Boortz have not conspired to destroy data, cook up figures, and assault the credentials of their skeptics.

News for you Linda. The London Times is headed by Rupert Murdoch who runs Fox news. Homework for everyone. Check the credentials behind all those who think Global Warming is a lie. 90% of them are being paid off by the oil and gas and coal industries and yet even Patrick J. Michaels a leading scientist on your side admits people are contributing to Global Warming. See "1998 revisited" on youtube. PT Barnum had it right when he said there is a sucker born every minute because the oil, gas and cole companies have tapped into millions of them and now have them doing their dirty work for them. Just curious what you all have to say about the polls melting. Interesting how scientists have been predicting global warming for 30 years and now the polls are melting? Hmm, funny coincidence. And yes latest reports now show the south poll melting. You can deny all you like but the effects of global warming are clearly happening extremely fast.

Global Warming is a Hoax Perpetrating a Fraud Based on a Lie to Establish Control Over The Unknowing.

You are off you rocker. Stop drinking the kool-aid. The original source of this story is the London Times, not exactly a right wing conspiracy group. The scientists are lying and cheating. We have known this was a farce from the beginning. If this was as serious as Al G pretends he would give up his jet and multimillion dollar energy sucking home. He certainly wouldn't have put on a global concert to raise concerns. Yeah, that didn't waste a lot of fuel and carbon. Those superstar private jets, pyrotechnics, and mega speakers are "Earth Friendly". He is laughing all the way to the bank and your financing him.

Neal Boortz and Walter Wiliams are your references? Wow, you aren't even trying to hide that your propaganda is from ultra right wing talk show entertainers. The fact is the earth has NOT been cooling in the past 10 years. 1998 was the strongest El Nino on record and the sun was very active that year. NASA's data shows 2005 as the hottest year on record. There has been a cooling the past three years (even though they are still within the top ten hottest years on record) but NASA is predicting that will change in the next year or two now that we have moved back into an El Nino. They are predicting we will break the 2005 record. Sooner or later the heating is going to break another record and you all will have to find another way to lie about the data.
