The University of West Florida Athletic Department is pleased to announce its Hall of Fame Class of 2009-10.

This year’s group includes retired Athletic Director Richard Berg, former men’s basketball coach Marvin Beck, women’s soccer player Brook Pace, softball player Krissy Styrna and special achievement inductee Dr. Ben Williamson.

The Hall of Fame festivities are scheduled for Friday, January 22, and Saturday, January 23, and will include a golf tournament and induction ceremony on Friday and a reception at the home basketball games on Saturday.

The weekend will start with a golf tournament fundraiser at Scenic Hills Country Club in Pensacola on Friday, January 22.

The four-person scramble is scheduled for a shotgun start at 9:00 a.m., with individual packages available for $90 and team packages for $400 including a tee sign.

Tee signs only are also available for $100 each. Prizes will be awarded for the first, second and third place teams, as well as “Closest to the Pin” and “Longest Drive” contests.

The deadline to enter is Monday, January 18, and sign-up information is available on the Hall of Fame home page online at GoArgos.com. The Hall of Fame class of 2009-10 will be inducted in a ceremony that night at Scenic Hills, and tickets will be available for $25.

Social hour will begin at 6:00 p.m., with the dinner and program scheduled to start at 7:00 p.m. Space is limited, so guests are asked to view the invitation online at the Hall of Fame home page at GoArgos.com and RSVP with payment before January 20.

On Saturday, the inductees will be recognized during the UWF basketball teams’ games against Lambuth.

A reception honoring the Hall of Fame class will take place in the Argonaut Athletic Club immediately following the women’s game scheduled to start at 2:00 p.m., and the inductees will be introduced at halftime of the men’s game scheduled for a 4:00 p.m. tip-off.

The reception in the Argonaut Athletic Club will be open to all in attendance at the UWF basketball games that afternoon.
